Victoria Graham
Journalist. Broadcaster. Celebrant.

I became a journalist because I love a good story, but it wasn't until I became a Celebrant that I got to tell so many.
From a 96-year-old woman who played a vital role during World War II, to a bright young man who succumbed to drink and drugs, and an international model who fell in love with an agent - the stories you come across are diverse, fascinating and unique.

It’s all about people – if you love chatting, that’s a great start – but it wasn’t until I trained to become a Celebrant that I realised the role involved so much more.

People are entrusting you with very precious possessions – their stories, memories, and emotions.

Whether it’s a personal recollection, the story of a loved one who may have passed away, or a passion and love a couple want to share on one of the most special days of their life, you are the person they are sharing those possessions with, and with that comes great responsibility.

You see being a Celebrant you are the researcher, the writer and the narrator of people’s lives – whether at the beginning, middle or end of their journey. But you are also a mentor, a confidant, and a shoulder to cry on.

Some days you will be inspired, others you will sob – no two days are the same, but you are never alone.

Since training with Jacqueline I have not only made a friend but also gained the most incredible mentor. The guidance she constantly offers has given me the confidence to conduct hundreds of weddings and funerals across the southwest – bringing comfort, happiness, tears and laughter to families and couples from all walks of life.

So if you love life, love people, and love a celebration – why not become a celebrant?
