Hello, I am Jane-Marie and I am happy to be an independent civil celebrant. I have been professionally trained and carry full Public Liability and Indemnity Insurance. I have lived and worked in Devon for most of my life (with a few years overseas in Australia). I am a country girl at heart and have been so blessed to live here with my husband, children and our various animals, including dogs and horses. With my “other hat” on, I am a Speech & Language Therapist, with a career spanning 15 years in the NHS, specialising in elderly care and stammering. I am HCPC registered and DBS checked. My strength has always been my passion for talking to people and actively listening to their stories. I have been described as warm, empathetic, compassionate and professional. I completed my professional celebrant training to combine my love of working with people with my love of creative writing and spreading some joy! Love is at the centre of all of life's milestones and rites of passage and I want to celebrate them in all their forms. I love a celebration and I want to offer everyone the opportunity to choose the ceremony of their dreams and imaginations, free from restraints of convention and without prejudice. My aim is to create your perfect occasion, traditional or not- in a place of your choice, whether it is a wedding; vow renewal; baby naming or any other special day. My focus will be your focus, but if you need some inspiration, I can offer suggestions. I will then carefully craft your ceremony to make it as special and unique as you. I promise to bring humour and warmth to the planning, curating and delivery of your ceremony, making it truly yours and wondrous! There are no rules!!
