Artificial Intelligence & Plagiarism Policy
Celebrant Circle Ltd has a strict policy on plagiarism and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by students when submitting work for assessment and accreditation.
All submitted coursework, and post-course assignments, must be the student’s own work. Any instances of suspected use of AI will be fully investigated in line with this policy and may lead to the student not achieving accreditation – or accreditation being retracted.
Appropriate software is utilised to assess written work for the use of AI and plagiarism. Where it is identified that AI or plagiarism has been used, students will not be awarded accreditation.
Plagiarism means knowingly presenting work or writing undertaken by another person as if it were one’s own, without appropriate acknowledgement or referencing.
This can include:
-
Copying and presenting sentences or paragraphs which are the work of other people.
-
Copying and presenting ceremonial ideas, designs or themes previously used by others, as the student’s own work.
-
Closely paraphrasing sentences and/or paragraphs written by another person.
-
Submitting ceremony work or designs conceived by another person without due acknowledgement or referencing.
-
Claiming ownership of work which has been produced or written by another person.
-
Submitting previously assessed or published work without appropriate explanation, referencing, or acknowledgement.
Should plagiarism be identified after accreditation, the qualification will be rescinded or withdrawn.
Celebrant Circle Ltd provide students with excellent training and learning materials. Students’ work is assessed by a variety of different methodologies. During residential courses, students’ assessed work will take place in either a classroom situation, or individually, to reduce the risk of plagiarism.
The Celebrant Circle training team will advise the learner, in writing, of the proposed plagiarism investigation.
The Directors will decide on appropriate action to investigate plagiarism or the use of AI, and the outcome of any investigation will be reported to the student within three weeks.
